Unemployment sucks, simple. To fight the urge to do nothing and just cry whilst asking yourself where it all went wrong, here's a few things to remember.

1. DON'T SLEEP IN.

I have been bad at this. Unemployment is far from a holiday so instead of sleeping in, get up at a normal time. Now I'm not saying stupidly early like 5:30am but waking up at a similar time that you're used to will not only make it easier to fall back into routine when you get back to working but will make you more productive.

2. BUDGET BUDGET BUDGET

Don't be stupid with your money when you don't know when you'll next have a pay slip. Instead of going out for drinks, have your pals round. Like that new dress in the Topshop display? Don't even think about it as painful as it may be. You still have bills and rent to pay and they're the priority. I'm not saying be a anti social Annie but factor in what your outgoings are. Now if you're lucky enough to live at home this is a bit easier but the pinch on the wallet is the worst agreed?

3. A FRIENDS RE RUN MARATHON IS BOUND TO HAPPEN

Thanks, Comedy Central. One minute its 11am and the next is 6pm.

4. FIND ODD JOBS

To earn yourself a bit of £££ whilst you apply for those dream jobs, be productive. I've done a little bit of work in my sisters pub to not only get myself doing something and get out of the house but to let my bank balance feel a bit happier.

5. IT'S 2015, THE INTERNET EXISTS.

Contact people, email people, tweet people. There's no harm in seeking help or putting an offer out there and making yourself known.

6. TRY NOT TO STRESS

This is the part I'm guilty of and it's understandable, it's a crappy, difficult stressful situation to be in. Don't take out your stress and frustration on those around you, especially if they're trying to help. (Soz mum, I appreciate your emails really) Things have a way of working out even though it may not feel like it now. Before you know it the day will come where you no longer have to chose between the tesco value or tesco finest options.

My friend Smay made a video about job hunting that may be of some help!

  3. I remember when I was unemployed for a bit, and job hunting was soo exhausting! Getting up early is definitely a good tip though and one that so many people over look! Keeping busy is also very important, I volunteered in a charity shop and painted a lot to keep myself sane haha!
